Music

In addition to writing short stories, novels, and poems, Peter is also a composer.  In high school, he played trumpet and French horn.  In college, he joined a punk/heavy metal band and played guitar.  He also took music theory, and as part of the process took piano lessons.  Currently, he only keeps active with guitar and piano.

Peter's musical style varies, but he prefers fast music (a holdover from his days in the punk band).  Recently, Peter got a subscription to East West and has been trying to make epic music scores.  He's largely influenced by soundtracks, especially those composed by Hans Zimmer and James Horner.  Here's a sampling of some of his works for your enjoyment (or to make you cringe and hold your bleeding ear drums, if that's more your thing).

Forward

Peter says: "Forward was a lot of fun to write because I got to use epic drums on it.  In addition, it has some great brass throughout."  He has said he considers it to be the best piece of music he has composed so far.

MetaLife

MetaLife is the only song Peter has on YouTube that features a guitar he did not play.  That's because MetaLife uses the "Ministers of Rock 2" library from East West, so none of the instruments are real.  It still sounds like a great heavy metal music piece though.
